When you use Psalmara, we collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: Your email address and, if provided, your name and profile picture (via Google sign-in or direct registration).
- Profile preferences: Your preferred Bible translation, devotional length, tone preferences, timezone, and reading goals.
- AI questions and responses: Questions you submit to our AI Bible study assistant and the responses generated, so you can review and save them.
- Journal entries: Personal reflections, prayers, and notes you write in the in-app journal. These are stored securely and are private to your account.
- Usage data: Basic app usage metrics (e.g., number of questions asked per day) to enforce plan limits and improve the service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to provide and improve the Psalmara service:
- To authenticate your account and keep it secure.
- To personalize your devotionals, study plans, and AI responses based on your stated preferences.
- To store your journal entries, saved verses, and prayer requests so you can access them across devices.
- To enforce daily usage limits on free accounts and manage subscription access.
- To send transactional emails (e.g., password reset links, subscription receipts) when necessary.
- To improve the quality and accuracy of our AI-generated content over time.
3. We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties for their marketing or commercial purposes. Your journal entries, AI questions, and personal reflections are never shared with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Payment Processing
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. Stripe handles all billing data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
You remain in control of your data at all times:
- Export: You may request an export of your account data (journal entries, saved verses, study plans) by contacting us at privacy@psalmara.com.
- Deletion: You may delete your account at any time from the Account Deletion page. Deletion is permanent and will remove all associated data, including journal entries, saved items, and preferences.
6. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to safeguard your information.
7. Cookies
We use essential session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
8. Young Users
Psalmara is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at privacy@psalmara.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
